The Geller Law Group Expands with 6 New Hires in 3 Months

To accommodate its growing client list and the demand for legal services in the areas of Family Law, Business Law, and Wills, Trusts, and Estate Planning, The Geller Law Group has added six new team members to its roster since April for a total of seven new hires in 2021.

Kara Tappan, Senior Associate

Kara is a Senior Associate focusing primarily on Business Services and Civil Litigation. Prior to joining the firm, Kara’s practice focused on the business needs of community association clients. Her work helped her become what she likes to think of as a generalist with broad knowledge in many areas of law including contract drafting, negotiation and litigation, real estate and zoning matters, debt collection, corporate formation and governance, foreclosure, and bankruptcy.

Joanna Schindler, Associate

Joanna is an associate serving primarily in the firm’s Business Law Practice.

With a background in business and family law, Joanna is well versed in all areas of the litigation process, as well as commercial transactions. Throughout her career, she has counseled clients to reach creative solutions to conflicts, often resulting in resolutions that are successful and cost-effective.

Joanna is passionate about child advocacy and is qualified as a guardian ad litem for children in Virginia. Additionally, she has served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for abused and neglected children in Fairfax County.

David Posner, Healthcare Outreach Consultant

David has joined The Geller Law Group as a Healthcare Outreach Consultant.

David has worked in the healthcare industry for over 20 years; however, it was his passion for seniors that brought him to work for private-duty home care 8 years ago.

David currently partners with the region’s hospitals, rehabs, and assisted livings to help families navigate the ever-changing healthcare system and provide options for healthcare at home. His leadership, knowledge and experience in elder care is an asset to the families of The Geller Law Group.

Deborah Boddie

Deborah has joined the firm as a paralegal in the Family Law Group. She assists firm attorneys with all aspects of their cases from inception to conclusion and is highly regarded for her case management work and fostering positive attorney/client relationships.

For the last 18 years, Deborah has worked exclusively in the field of domestic relations in Northern Virginia. She is also an active member of the paralegal section of the Fairfax Bar Association and the Paralegal Association of Northern Virginia.

Kelsey Tigner

Kelsey joins the firm as a legal assistant in the Family Law Group. She has several years’ experience serving as an administrative and legal assistant for a boutique family law firm in Northern Virginia where she assisted in all phases of divorce-related litigation, including trial prep as well as drafting, editing, and finalizing legal documents and client correspondence.

In addition to her legal work, Kelsey is an English writing and Spanish language tutor for high school and college students.

Amy Frady

Amy Frady works as a part-time administrative assistant for The Geller Law Group to help clients with their legal estate planning documents and assist with funding trusts. She is also a notary and helps with client signings. Amy is excited to be part of a wonderful firm that is committed to client service.
