The Geller Law Group Expands Award-Winning Family Law Team

We’re pleased to announce the expansion of our Family Law Team with the addition of two exceptional legal professionals, Associate Allison Mazzei, and Paralegal Melissa Sigritz. Their genuine passion for family law will further strengthen our ability to serve our clients across the DC Metro.

Allison Mazzei, Family Law Associate

Allison is a seasoned attorney with a comprehensive range of experience in family law matters. She handles cases involving separation, divorce, child custody, and support.

Allison’s passion for family law emerged in law school during internships with a DC and Maryland family law judge. These experiences sparked her interest in helping families navigate the complexities of legal challenges. After earning her law degree, Allison further honed her skills by clerking for a family law judge in Washington, DC. Prior to transitioning to full-time family law practice in 2021, she gained valuable experience in elder law and estate administration.

Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Allison holds B.A. and M.A. degrees from Ohio University. She pursued her earned her J.D. from the American University Washington College of Law.

Allison resides in Fairfax County with her husband and two dogs. She’s an avid follower of Formula 1 Racing and enjoys immersing herself in the world of Stardew Valley, a popular video game where players cultivate their inherited farm.

Melissa Sigritz, Family Law Paralegal

Melissa brings over 24 years of experience in family law to the GLG team. Throughout her career, she’s found fulfillment in helping clients through the emotionally challenging process of ending a marriage.

Prior to GLG, Melissa served as a family law paralegal in Dayton, Ohio, where she drafted essential legal documents related to divorce proceedings, including complaints, discovery requests, pretrial statements, and divorce decrees. Her exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify hidden assets have consistently benefited clients.

Melissa’s educational background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Political Science from Miami University and an Associate’s Degree from Sinclair Community College’s ABA-approved legal assisting program.

Outside of her legal career, Melissa cherishes spending time with her family, including her beloved four-legged members. She nourishes her love for adventure through extensive travel, having explored all 50 states.

As a dedicated runner, Melissa has completed 16 marathons, many of which were in support of various charitable causes.
