An Award-Winning, Women-Owned & Operated Law Firm

Tammy Hui is Of Counsel in the Geller Law Group’s Business Practice. Her practice focuses on providing business services to small businesses and nonprofit clients. Tammy also handles trademark matters, assisting and counseling clients on trademark clearance and enforcement and through the process of preparing and prosecuting trademark applications.

Prior to joining The Geller Law Group, Tammy owned and operated a solo law practice serving small business and nonprofit clients in the Washington, DC area. Tammy previously served as in-house counsel to an environmental nonprofit for eight years where she was embedded in the day-to-day operations of a dynamic global organization. Through this experience, she gained deep insight into the challenges and opportunities faced by organizations looking to solve tough societal and global issues.

Tammy’s past legal experience also includes a post-law school clerkship at the Supreme Court of New York, Appellate Division, Third Department, and internships at the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and a modest real estate firm in New England. Prior to law school, Tammy worked at a global technology company, her family’s multiple small businesses, and various other positions at companies in her home province of Alberta, Canada.

Tammy strives to be a knowledgeable resource for entrepreneurs, small businesses, and nonprofits in the Washington, DC, ecosystem and is involved with organizations that promote entrepreneurship by providing access to resources and relationships within the greater DC business community. She enjoys working with early-stage businesses and is consequently a frequent volunteer for the DC Bar Pro Bono Center’s Small Business Brief Advice Legal Clinic.

Tammy received her JD/MBA from Western New England University, where she served as editor-in-chief of the Western New England Law Review. She earned a Bachelor of Commerce with a concentration in international business from the University of Alberta in Canada.

Tammy enjoys photography and traveling and was formerly a ski instructor in the Canadian Rocky Mountains (until her mom told her to get a “real” job). Tammy lives in DC with her husband and two children.
