Janell Wheeler

Janell Wheeler is a Senior Associate with the Geller Law Group and focuses her practice on estate planning, probate administration, and trust administration.

Janell assists individuals and families in developing estate plans tailored to their unique goals and personal circumstances. She takes the time to get to know each client and to answer questions or address concerns they may have as they work together to create an estate plan.

Janell began her career working on matters in various areas of the law, including business law, commercial and residential real estate, litigation, estate administration, and estate planning. Her practical experience with a variety of legal issues allows her to address business succession planning and real estate matters as part of creating a holistic estate plan for her clients.

Janell also provides guidance to personal representatives in administering estates. She is a compassionate partner to her clients, helping them to navigate probate administration by guiding them step by step through the process. Her ability to connect with and provide clear guidance to her clients sets her apart as a trusted advisor.

Additionally, Janell assists in the creation and administration of trusts, including both revocable and irrevocable trusts. She works with her clients to create and administer trusts as part of their estate plan. She advises and assists trustees with administering trusts, including providing notices to beneficiaries, creating accountings, and making permitted distributions.

When disputes arise as part of the trust or estate administration process, Janell represents clients to find a resolution through negotiation, and, if needed, litigation. She also has experience with a variety of probate litigation matters, including will contests and filing claims against an estate.

Janell graduated magna cum laude from American University Washington College of Law. During law school, Janell was selected as a Note and Comment Editor for the American University Law Review and as a Classroom Fellow for the Legal Rhetoric program.

Janell lives in Fairfax, Virginia, with her husband and children. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, cooking, and reading.
