Amanda Plant is a partner at the Geller Law Group whose practice is focused on estate planning, business succession planning, and small business matters.

For estate plans, Amanda works closely with clients to ensure their plan is tailored to their needs, including counseling on advance health directives, powers of attorney, wills, and various types of trusts from probate avoidance, planning for children, planning for blended families, or more complex vehicles to minimize estate taxes.

Amanda counsels clients on business succession planning, including simple incorporation of a business interest into an estate plan, general succession planning for multi-member businesses, and specific planning for professionals (i.e. PLLCs).

Amanda also works with small business clients, including reviewing and creating operating and shareholder agreements, client services and employment agreements, and general contracts.

Prior to joining the firm, Amanda ran her own solo practice in D.C. assisting clients with estate planning and small business matters. After law school, Amanda served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Hiram Puig-Lugo in the Superior Court of D.C.

Amanda received her J.D. from the American University, Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C.  Amanda was an evening student at WCL, and worked full-time as the Acquisitions Coordinator at the American University Library. While in law school, Amanda participated in a Moot Court competition, served as an Associate Justice in the Student Bar Association and was a Student Attorney in the Civil Practice Clinic. Amanda also worked part-time as a law clerk at a small firm in Montgomery County, Maryland.

Amanda resides in Washington, D.C. with her husband, son, and rescue yellow lab, Hunter.  In her free time, she enjoys biking, reading, fitness training, martial arts, and hanging out with her family.
