Geller Law Group Strengthens Family Law Team with Addition of Donna Dougherty and Jennifer Doughton

We’re thrilled to announce that Donna Dougherty and Jennifer Doughton have joined The Geller Law Group’s award-winning Family Law practice. Together, they bring more than three decades of experience in complex family law matters, litigation support, and client advocacy

Donna joins the firm as Of Counsel with over 20 years of experience as a family law attorney and litigator. A trusted referral for her peers and a respected courtroom presence, Donna is known for her fearless handling of complex and emotionally charged cases from high-conflict custody disputes to international custody matters under the Hague Convention.

Donna’s practice includes divorce, custody, visitation, support, equitable distribution, adoption, and family law litigation involving same-sex divorce, high-asset separation, and contested adoptions. She has led her own successful law firms, The Family Law Group and Donna Dougherty Law, before joining GLG. Beyond her legal work, Donna is a passionate leader in the Northern Virginia legal community, she served as Past-President of the Prince William County Bar Association and a former President of the Prince William Virginia Women’s Attorneys Association.

Donna also serves as a Guardian ad Litem for children in Prince William County, a role she has held since the start of her career and considers one of the most meaningful aspects of her work. Donna lives in Gainesville, Virginia, with her two teenage daughters. Outside of the office, she enjoys volunteering, planning her next creative endeavor, and traveling.

Jennifer Doughton joins us as a Paralegal supporting the Family Law team. With more than a decade of legal support experience, primarily in family law and Guardian ad Litem matters, Jenn is known for her attention to detail, calm under pressure, and client-focused approach.

Based in Northern Virginia and a graduate of Marymount University with a degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Sociology, Jenn has worked closely with attorneys and clients on everything from complex litigation to uncontested divorces. She is highly skilled in drafting pleadings, coordinating discovery, managing deadlines, preparing for hearings and trials, and keeping clients informed every step of the way. Outside of work, Jenn enjoys spending time with her daughter, traveling abroad, and rooting for the Capitals.
