Geller Law Group Featured in Virginia Lawyers Weekly’s Inaugural Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Spotlight

Geller Law Group DEI Spotlight Award

Known for its unwavering commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), The Geller Law Group has been recognized in Virginia Lawyers Weekly‘s inaugural DEI Spotlight. GLG is featured in the July 29 issue of the publication, highlighting the firm’s significant impact on Virginia’s legal profession and the communities it serves.

This recognition underscores GLG’s profound influence in fostering an inclusive environment within the legal sector, promoting justice and equity for all people in Virginia.

Virginia Lawyers Weekly, a pre-eminent legal publication, inaugurated the DEI Spotlight to honor law firms and legal entities that embody the essence of diversity and inclusion.

The Geller Law Group, founded in 2011, has consistently implemented innovative DEI policies and practices, earning it a place among the few distinguished firms celebrated in this landmark feature. The introduction of Rahni Jenkins, a credentialed DEI consultant who now serves as the firm’s Chief Human Resources & Operations Officer, helped the leadership team embed principles of diversity and equity into everyday operations.

GLG’s substantial DEI endeavors include robust engagement with LGBTQ+ initiatives, collaborations with entities such as Rainbow Families and the Whitman Walker Clinic, and active participation in local pride festivals. The firm also has an LGBTQ+ outreach coordinator.

The Geller Law Group’s dedication also extends to racial justice, with significant fundraising efforts for the Black Lives Matter movement and collaborations with the Law Firm Antiracism Alliance. Efforts to increase BIPOC recruitment have seen an impressive 11 percent increase in the past year, reflecting the firm’s commitment to creating a more inclusive legal community.

Moreover, GLG is recognized for its pro bono work, including supporting the Virginia Law Audit Project and receiving accolades as Pro Bono Firm of the Year by the Northern Virginia Pro Bono Law Center. Of Counsel Chandra Sheppard‘s establishment of a Diversity Committee within the Fairfax Bar Association further underscores GLG’s dedication to DEI.

Being included in Virginia Lawyers Weekly‘s DEI Spotlight highlights The Geller Law Group’s significant contributions to the legal sector and its steadfast commitment to creating a more inclusive and equitable legal profession in Virginia and beyond.
