An Award-Winning, Women-Owned & Operated Law Firm
Fifteen years ago, Rebecca Geller founded The Geller Law Group after recognizing that the traditional law firm model was not built for the realities of modern life. So she decided to build something better. At a time when rigid structures and all-or-nothing career paths were the norm, she created a firm designed around how people actually live and work, proving that legal excellence does not depend on outdated systems and that when attorneys are happy and supported, clients benefit.
By prioritizing flexibility, accountability, and long-term sustainability, the firm has built a team of experienced attorneys who remain deeply engaged in their work and in their client relationships. The result is a level of continuity, responsiveness, and thoughtful judgment that clients depend on.
The model implemented by Rebecca and Managing Partner Maria Simon has shaped how the firm has grown and continues to grow today. The Geller Law Group has expanded to a team of 36 legal professionals advising clients across a range of practice areas, including small business matters, trademarks, wills and trusts, estate planning and probate, family law, civil litigation, and legal issues impacting the LGBTQ+ community.
As client needs have evolved, so has the firm’s approach to delivering legal services. Recent innovations include GLG Guided Launch, an attorney-guided, single-member LLC formation service designed to help entrepreneurs start their businesses on a strong legal foundation.
The firm also introduced GLG+ Ongoing Legal Planning, a subscription-based program offering ongoing estate planning guidance and document updates without the unpredictability of the billable hour.
In its Family Law practice, the firm has also expanded its offerings to include Mediation and Collaborative Law, providing clients with more constructive, forward-focused options during significant life transitions.
The firm has also made education a central part of its impact. Through Rebecca Geller’s Legal Adulting workshops, delivered both virtually and in person, The Geller Law Group helps individuals, organizations, and communities better understand essential legal and life planning topics, making legal guidance more accessible and actionable.
This commitment extends into pro bono service. As an active volunteer with the Fairfax Bar Association’s Wills on Wheels program, GLG legal professionals help deliver essential estate planning services to older adults and individuals who may not otherwise have access to them.
Over the past 15 years, The Geller Law Group has been recognized in national and local publications across Virginia and Washington, DC, for both its legal work and its leadership within the profession. The firm has earned honors including multiple Best Places to Work awards, three consecutive years of recognition in Best Lawyers, and awards for pro bono service and community impact. It has also been repeatedly honored for its leadership in diversity, equity, and inclusion, and for its role as a women-led firm.
These recognitions reflect a broader commitment that continues to shape the firm today. Through intentional leadership and inclusive practices, The Geller Law Group has built a diverse team that brings depth of perspective to its work. That commitment extends beyond the firm through ongoing pro bono service, volunteerism, and community engagement – efforts that strengthen both the profession and the communities it serves. As The Geller Law Group marks its 15-year anniversary, it does so with a clear understanding of what has driven its success: a people-centered model, a commitment to doing things differently, and a focus on delivering meaningful, high-quality legal work. With continued growth and innovation ahead, the firm remains focused on serving its clients with the same level of care, expertise, and intention that defined its founding.
