Senior Business Attorney: Of Counsel or ​Lateral Partner

Compensation: $150k - $247,500 depending on level of experience + $5k signing bonus offered. 


Must be a self-starter and possess excellent communication and organizational skills. Our expectations include that you have the ability to quickly learn new tasks, think ahead, work independently, be detail and deadline-oriented, and work well with others. 


Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5-10+ years of business law experience;

  • Substantive experience working with business start-ups;

  • Knowledge and ability to draft business contracts such as client services contracts, employee/independent contractor agreements, buy/sell agreements, etc.;

  • Familiarity with trademarks & IP issues relating to small biz is a plus;

  • Prior experience working at a law firm in a similar position is required. 

  • Ability to supervise work performed by junior associates & paralegals;

  • Ideally licensed in at least 1 of the following jurisdictions: Virginia, Maryland, District of Columbia. If not licensed in Virginia, then candidate must be eligible to waive into Virginia. 


Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • General experience in civil litigation is an added plus;

  • Comfortable working remotely and familiar with the technologies involved in a virtual environment;

  • Able to balance multiple client matters and understand the importance of deadlines;

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;

  • Highly trustworthy and discreet; and

  • Common sense and good judgment.

Family Law Associate

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Barred in Virginia (DC and/or MD a bonus)

  • 3-6 years of experience with family law matters

  • Familiarity with the courts of Northern Virginia

  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, and think outside of the box

  • Acute analytical and critical thinking skills are required

  • Capable of clearly expressing written and oral ideas with proper grammar, formatting, and professionalism.

  • Ability to manage changing deadlines, client demands, work for multiple partners, and multiple cases

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Effective time management, planning and organization skills to accomplish tasks in a timely manner are needed. 


Responsibilities & Duties:


  • Responsible for the proactive management of your own caseload

  • Assisting in drafting, discovery, motions, trial preparation, and trials.  

  • Our team offers significant client contact and court appearances from the outset on interesting matters in a supportive, flexible environment.

Will Witnesses

The Geller Law Group is hiring 3-5 people to be witnesses for estate document signings for our Fairfax office for about 1-3 hours per week, as needed, on an ongoing basis. 


No legal experience is required, the schedule is very flexible, and it does not require a regular weekly or monthly commitment. Compensation is $15/hr. and work must be done on-site.

LGBTQ Outreach Coordinator

The Geller Law Group, PLLC, an award-winning, rapidly growing firm located in Fairfax, VA is hiring a part-time LGBTQ outreach coordinator in the DC/NoVA region to assist the firm in reaching out to and connecting with the LGBTQ community and individuals in need of legal services for adoption and surrogacy needs.


Experience working for, significant volunteer experience with, and/or connections within a wide social and/or professional network of DC/NoVA region LGBTQ organizations and/or community groups is required. The position could be done in addition to a current full-time job as this work would only require approximately 3-5 hours/week. 


Preferred candidates are motivated, self-starters who communicate well and think creatively. The candidate would work independently, mostly from home, and on their own schedule. There is no requirement or expectation to work in our office or to work a certain schedule.
